Hi, I’m Lynn!
Thanks for stopping by and here is a little bit about myself. From a young age in Texas, I knew I wanted to teach. On my Mother’s side there are three generations of educators. In my office hangs an old photograph. This photograph is my Grandma Thelma with students in front of a one room school house dated 1927.
The last 8 years of my 20 year career spent in teaching and as a school principal. One of focuses is on using social media for educators and developing creative outlets. The first blog I participated in 2011 was Connected Principals.
Currently I am a principal of an elementary school in one of the largest urban school districts in California. Really love using social media to make connections and allow teachers to get the word out about their good work. This is where I discovered the power of blogging, Facebook pages, Instagram, Twitter, building websites using WordPress and Pinterest. Because I encourage teachers to be social, creative and self-expressed I also do the same with social media. painting and mixed media. My biggest wish for every educator is to find the joy in our work.
I am married with grown children and a chocolate lab.. Because of this I encourage my staff to have a balance between work and home. None of us want to miss special moments. Blogging and social media is a great place to share with our home and school families what is happening. My jam is creating art through painting, drawing and collage.
